What are you guys using to keep track of workouts? Paper logs, spreadsheets, special software...

I'm considering buying an iPhone app for doing so, but haven't found any that has really impressed me. So, what's your take on this?

I used fitday.com for a brief time, but found it to be not exactly what I wanted, so I started keeping track of information related to my jogging on my own.

Basically, I started with a spreadsheet with only a few columns:

  • Start date and time
  • End date and time
  • Distance ran
  • My weight

I would then use that info to compute my BMI, calories burned, average speed, etc. in other columns in the spreadsheet.

After awhile I wanted more info than what a simple spreadsheet gave me, so I created a web application that I use for my own personal use that has some nice graphs, some simple reporting, and more calculations (I'm a developer, by the way). At some point I'm going to make this tool public for everyone to use since it's been so effective for me.
