At that time, I took "Serious Mass" from Optimum - I guess it's still being sold under the same name.

Actually I believe any weight-gainer from the most popular brands will do - just pay attention not to overdo it, since it's easy to gain some fat while taking this kind of supplement.

Also of special interest for hard-gainers is creatine (of course you heard about it!) - I believe it's not legal in all countries, but it's surely a great strength/mass builder.

Last but not least, pay attention to your rest periods - if you workout too many days a week, you'll be amazed at what a couple days of rest can do for you! And be sure to get a lot of sleep during this time as well...

Take care!!
http://www.fitnessrealm.com/questions/1/how-do-you-keep-track-of-your-workouts How do you keep track of your workouts? pmivla 2009-11-18T04:25:53Z 2010-02-14T02:27:17Z
What are you guys using to keep track of workouts? Paper logs, spreadsheets, special software...

I'm considering buying an iPhone app for doing so, but haven't found any that has really impressed me. So, what's your take on this?
http://www.fitnessrealm.com/questions/7/should-i-eat-before-or-after-exercises/8#8 Answer by pmivla for Should I eat before or after exercises? pmivla 2009-11-25T21:54:27Z 2009-11-25T21:54:27Z
From my point of view, eating before and after exercising is essential.

Many people have the misconception that not eating before working out will burn more fat, but this article on MSN suggests that it is not true:

Even though the body has plenty of fat stored, for fat to be “burned”, or metabolized, carbs need to be present. Often, the liver’s carb stores are nearly depleted by the morning, so many people may wake up in the morning in a state of energy deficit, where there are not enough carbs to provide energy and to help utilize fat. So they need breakfast to infuse more energy into their body.

Of course, this doesn't mean you should have a large meal before working out, unless you want to be nauseated! :) My advice would be to have a small meal with some carbs to fuel your body during activity, not forgetting to favor "good carbs", such as whole grains, fruits, and juices, over junk food.

Proper nutrition after exercising is also quite important - during a time window which lasts about an hour to 90 minutes after working out, body enzymes which replenish your energy storage will be at their peak. This is the time to get some high-quality protein and carbs as well. Even if you don't feel hungry, especially after a hard session, try grabbing a sports drink on your way home!
http://www.fitnessrealm.com/questions/2/best-ways-to-stick-with-an-exercise-program Best ways to stick with an exercise program pmivla 2009-11-18T13:53:34Z 2009-11-20T22:06:45Z
How do you build the habit of exercising, and how do you stick with it?

I always start my exercise programs full of willpower and energy, but they fade in a couple of weeks...

Are there any "tricks" for one to make exercising a lifetime habit?
http://www.fitnessrealm.com/questions/1/how-do-you-keep-track-of-your-workouts/9#9 Comment by pmivla pmivla 2010-03-25T02:56:11Z 2010-03-25T02:56:11Z Cool, be sure to post the links to your app when you make it public!!!
